About the Gathering

We are a group of non-denominational believers that meet once a fortnight in Sudeley Park hall, Irwell Canterbury, New Zealand, to worship, encourage and minister to one another. We base ourselves upon the Apostolic Creed as set down in the early church in Acts. We believe we are a family, brothers and sisters in Christ.

Our story

The Gathering fellowship started after a group of us saw the COVID mandates splitting the church. We wanted to meet together as one body, so we began meeting out of our houses. As we grew, we moved into the Sudeley Park hall, as we did not want to be tied down to any one place.

Our values

The Gathering is guided by three core values:

  • The headship of God the Father, His son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit
  • The teaching in the Apostles Creed
  • That people identify and grow in the use of their spiritual giftings.

Our community

Our services are for encouraging, ministering, and teaching each other so that we can grow as God leads us. This is not for our benefit but to take God’s light and love into a world that desperately needs it within the Canterbury community.

"Being part of The Gathering has truly felt like coming home to a supportive and loving family. I've grown so much in my faith since joining."
